Raelene Prieto M.Ed.,RP
Raelene believes that healing begins in a space where people feel seen, heard, and understood. Her approach to therapy is grounded in trust, collaboration, and deep respect for each person’s lived experience. She works alongside clients to explore the patterns, relationships, and life experiences that have shaped their journeys—while helping them reconnect with their own strengths and capacity for change.
Her work integrates a range of therapeutic approaches—including cognitive, behavioural, emotion-focused, narrative, experiential, and trauma-informed modalities—allowing each session to be tailored to the client’s values, goals, and pace.
With over 20 years of experience in community health, hospital, corporate, and social service settings, Raelene brings both academic training and practical insight to her work. She holds a B.A. (Hons) from York University and an M.Ed. in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto (OISE).
Growing up in the Caribbean and later building her life and career in Canada has shaped Raelene’s appreciation for cultural diversity and the many ways identity, migration, and social systems influence mental health. She practices with cultural humility and an anti-oppression lens, recognizing the impacts of racism, discrimination, systemic barriers, and life transitions on wellbeing.
Raelene considers it an honor to walk alongside clients as they explore their stories, deepen self-understanding, and take meaningful steps toward healing and growth.
